A E R O K N I G H T - - - - - - - just go on walking in the rain so no one knows your crying... It was early, around five in the morning when Aero snuck out of her dorm, she ignored the few people who looked at her, running away from the fog covered campus. She headed to Central Park, running easily along the jogging trails. Her long black hair was held back in a low ponytail, bangs brushing over her eyes. She wore a simple black jogging shorts and a dark tank-top that matched them. Basically her general black attire.
Getting bored she pulled out her iPod, putting the earphones and turning up the sound, blaring loud screamo music form a band she didn't even know the name of. But it cleared her head. She started running again, knowing if she didn't she'd never be able to better her surfing career. Three miles later she stopped, leaning against a tree and pulling the earphones out of her ears. She sighed loudly, throughly hating her current life. She flipped her bangs out of her face, annoyed her brother had ever sent her to this stupid cold place. "Stupid brother." she muttered, glancing up at the sky. Low storm clouds hung in it, giving the general warning sign that it was going to storm. She glared hatefully at the gloomy clouds and started running again, not caring if she got caught in the rain.
A few miles later she pulled out her phone, checking the time. 6:30 AM.. she muttered quietly, knowing most students wouldn't even be awake yet. She considered skipping her classes today, knowing it would just result in a detention, which she'd probably end up getting anyways... She sighed softly, and leaned against another tree, wondering if anyone else was out in Central Park at 6:30 AM or if she really was obsessed like her brother said. - - - - - - - notes:: left it kinda short... whomever answers can make this into what they want... word count:: 327 status:: finished!

Søren had done the one thing he new he shouldn’t and gave in to his tiredness and slept most of the previous afternoon so now was awake and doubted his body would relax for the night. After wondering the dorms for at least an hour, running the battery flat on his Ipod and finally sorting out the mess of clothes thrown in his wardrobe he decided to go outside. Not knowing what the time was or if he could indeed just walk out of the campus and didn’t really care. As he left he pick up his phone and checked the clock, it was early morning now and still Søren felt awake and began to wonder if he ever get into a more normal pattern or accept and submit to a nocturnal lifestyle. It couldn’t be to bad, he liked the nighttimes and the stars. It was peaceful outside and he would be relatively alone. Shaking the thought of Søren didn’t like the sound as much as he thought he would, he didn’t do to well last time he subjected himself to a life of solitude.
As he stepped outside Søren took a deep breath in as he felt light rain on his face and check the time again. The phone screen showed 5:15 am. Early and in a few hours it would be class time, by which he was sure that sleep would catch up with him. But the rain was refreshing and not as cold as it looked which explain the lack of real clothing on his body. Søren never really felt the cold so his outfit was simple (or as simple as it could be for him) and sleeveless. He wasn’t the type to care how others saw him so just walked out into the street and down the path, trying to look as confident as in his head he felt to be. In reality he look rather lost and hardly threatening. Søren was a puppy at heart even if he looked a little rough at first glance. He never spoke much to people which didn’t help get rid of the myth that surrounded him at lessons.
Not realising how far he had been walking or for how long he turned into the park and dropped down onto a bench. Nobody was around so Søren just watched the traffic in the distance and pulled his phone out again, looking to the screen not sure what at. Half hoping it would ring. Blinking he moaned lightly and guessed he should head back towards the Academy . Standing up he walked down towards the other end of the park before seeing a girl, it was still kind of early so being the gentleman he was paused a little way of before asking. “Are you ok?” he didn’t want to seem like some pervert talking to her this early in a empty park but he was concerned. He may hate talking to strangers but wasn’t against helping them.

A E R O K N I G H T - - - - - - - just go on walking in the rain so no one knows your crying... Aero breathed in the cool, misty air still hating it completely. New York. It was a paradise to many, but to her it was torture. She considered all the tings she could send to her brother for making her come here. Hmm, scorpions sound like a lovely idea... she considered smirking lightly. She felt a rain drop on her wrist, the freezing drop jolting her out of her thoughts. She glared at the sky again, her mood getting darker every second.
She heard the noisy sound of car engines nearby, angry at the cars, her brother, the trees that grew in this stupid place, and the few good things that threatened to make her happy. She sighed again, quietly, knowing she should get back to the Academy before class started. Then again, skipping was starting to feel like a wonderful idea. Suddenly another voice popped into her head, she turned to face the direction where it had come from and spotted a scary looking guy in a black and red outfit. Not that she was scared of him, she figured she could run faster than him if he did try to hurt her. She frowned slightly, thinking his question was a lot harder to answer than it sounded. Yeah... she said half heartedly, trying not to let her currently crappy mood show.
She looked at the guy again, noticing she recognized him from somewhere. Do you go to St.Marks? I think I've seen you around school there... she said, hoping she hadn't lost her mind and was imagining people she had never seen before. She waited for him to answer, annoyed as another freezing rain drop fell on her hand. She glared at it like it could see her and brushed it off, disgusted how even the rain in the city was cold. God I hate this place... she thought, wondering if she could somehow make her life more miserable. She held back another sigh, not wanting to let her anger show. - - - - - - - notes:: N/A word count:: 370 status:: completed!

It sounded like one of those white lies people say to avoid hurting someone feelings or to not say what they are really thinking or feeling. This girl looked pissed off and far from ok, but what business was it of Søren to question her? It was nothing to do with him in the first instance but he had ask her so now couldn’t question her reply. She didn’t seem to freak by his presence though or she might not replied or just walked away so she couldn’t be to annoyed or in trouble. Strangely after hearing her ask him something Søren thought he had seen her around in one of the rather large groups that strut around like they own the place, sometimes causing trouble but mostly ignoring others. Maybe it was better not to say he did, Søren wasn’t in the mood to be criticised for being in a different clique he never wanted to be placed in in the start. Then, maybe he could get on her good side and shake of the stereotype.
“Yeah, I just started.” Søren replied with a faint smile looking as she angrily brushed off a rain drop from her skin. How could you be angry at rain? Wasn’t like it fell on her with the intent of making her cold, should take a coat or something. If he had one, Søren would have offered it but he was just as naked as she was. “I think I seen you around in a group with others. Your a Nyx? Or something I heard it called.” He added with a small frown trying to remember if that was the right name or would be seen as a insult, it was so just strange to him.
Feeling the rain drops on his skin Søren stepped forward to stand near Aero so he got some shelter from the tree. Glancing to her again he was sure she was far from ok but said nothing, if she wanted to talk she could and he would try and help, it was so much easier dealing with another problems then your own.

A E R O K N I G H T - - - - - - - just go on walking in the rain so no one knows your crying... Well at least your not totally insane... she thought, glad she had known the guy from somewhere. Yep, I'm a Nyx... she said in a dull voice, her bad mood showing through slightly, she glanced at the ground, wondering what else he knew. Looking back up to him she added, I'm Aero Knight by the way. halfway hoping he hadn't heard of her family on various news stations for their crimes like most other people had. She looked back at the ground, still angry at her family and everything else that had gone against her plans in life.
She tried to remember more about the guy standing near her, but could come up with nothing. She just knew she'd seen him in the hallways and maybe one of her classes, but didn't really know anything about him. She moved her dark bangs out of her eyes again and looked up, her sharp silver eyes full of curiosity, wanting to know more about who the guy was.
She saw him step closer to her, under the tree. Another drop of cold water fell on her and she gave it an annoyed look before brushing it off, less angrily this time. She wondered silently if she'd ever get out of this horrible city, away from all the cold, unforgiving water. But she said nothing, preferring to not let her thoughts out like she generally did, and like most of her family did. A cool breeze blew by, making her shiver lightly and hate the city even more. She waited quietly, wondering what the other guy knew about her, if anything...

Aero Knight, well it wasn’t familiar. From the looks she was giving Søren didn’t know whether to smile politely and pretend he knew her or just admit he had no idea who she was, you didn’t give your full title unless you were at least semi important. That was the problem with new towns which such social groups, there was always someone who was known maybe not for the right reasons but things just came from them. Stories, secrets, any half decent tv drama had the same plot line but until he came here Søren didn’t think the idea went over into real life, not to the same extent. He decided pretending would get him nowhere so said nothing really from hearing her name apart from reply with his own.
“Nice to meet you. I’m Søren.” Not expecting her to really remember it or speak to him much after this meeting. She said she was in the Nyx group which as far as he remembered were near the top of this unspoken status table. Then, there were not the complete top so maybe he could work his way into some sort of friendship, not that he cared to much if he didn’t. Really Søren didn’t know why he was so worried, maybe slightly knowing he was a foreigner to the country and not wanting to be more outcast then he already felt. He didn’t think America was to different to any other place, just bigger.
He shifted slightly feeling Aero stare at him a bit, it was an odd feeling like she didn’t trust him or he might no something. Søren half wished he did just so he knew if he was with someone that was disliked. “If it helps I have no idea who you are.” He said looking to his feet and placing his hands in his pockets, chewing his bottom lip lightly as he felt a bit awkward. It seemed like the right thing to say. “It probably none of my business but i don’t mind listening if you want to talk.” He added with a faint smile, half glancing back to her before his focus went back to his feet.

A E R O K N I G H T - - - - - - - just go on walking in the rain so no one knows your crying... Søren, she thought about the name for a minute, before deciding shedefinitelyy didn't know him. She looked at the ground again, wondering how she had missed him. I guess you don't know as many people as you thought... she considered, realizing she only knew a few people that weren't in her clique or the Skaters. She sighedsoftlyy and muttered, That's a relief... She had become sick of beinglabeledd according to her family. She stared blankly at the ground, unsure ofwhetherr to like her family or not. Sure she liked being known around school, being a Nyx was great to her, buteveryonee considered she wasjustt like the rest of her criminal based relatives, rich and uncaring.
She narrowed her eyes, sighing, and said, I just don't want to be here... she didn't look up, her harsh gaze remaining on the ground. I'm from Miami originallyy and I surf. And apparentlyy my brother thought I needed a break so he sent me here and I hate it... she said angrily, wondering why the Søren even cared. She glanced over at him, realizing he was the first person she'd ever told that.
Looking back at the ground she wondered what time it was, knowing that classes started at eight AM. But she didn't feel like checking her phone to find out. Who cares... she thought, deciding she was probably going to skip today knowing she'd most likely get a detention anyways. The teachers already hate ya, why not make them a little madder.. she thought, smirking lightly. She felt another cool breeze blow by, causing her to shiver again, wishing the storm would end. Reaching up to her neck, she fiddled with the shark tooth necklace she always wore, one of the last things she had to remind her of her true home. - - - - - - - notes:: N/A word count:: 349 status:: completedd

It was scary how similar Aero story was to Søren own, sent here against her want by someone else who thought it would do them good. How could being sent away from such a nice place to here be good for you anyway? He had never been to Miami but it was obviously a good deal warmer and pleasant then this cold concrete jungle. Yet Søren didn’t say anything much about how he could relate to that all to familiar story, it might have help Aero feel better knowing she wasn’t alone but he wasn’t ready to accept the fact he was God knows how many thousands of miles from home so hardly wanted to say it was ok, he didn’t believe it himself. “You will get use to it, just need time.” Søren said with a faint smile not knowing how long she had been here, if she had been here a year or more then maybe she never grow to like it. If that was true then Søren didn’t have much hope for adjusting any time soon. Then, he shouldn’t be too bad. He love travelling and this was just a little bit further then he was used to... Another continent further and unlike before he wouldn’t be moving again after a month or so. When he was taken to England it was years he was in one place, this should be nothing to that. “I sure your brother meant well for you.” After saying that Søren expected some harsher words to come his way as he got a bit to involved, he didn’t mean to get personal as he didn’t no a thing about her. He like the idea her brother care enough to send her here, his brothers hated him. Then they were not even his full brothers so they should they like him?
Sighing lightly he watched the rain and folded his arms across his chest, looking to Aero as she shivered. It must be a contrast coming from a warm place to here, Søren was used to the cold so although he felt the cold he wasn’t bothered as much by it. “Want me to run back to the Academy and get you a coat?” he asked looking her over. It must be getting nearer to class time but it seemed like she was planning on heading back soon, Søren didn’t mind being late as he had the same excuse of being jetlagged that was workable for at least another few days.

A E R O K N I G H T - - - - - - - just go on walking in the rain so no one knows your crying... Aero looked at him quizzically, still wondering why he cared about her life problems. She looked out solemnly as the rain fell, still missing her home. She narrowed her eyes and said, I've been here for six months... her sentence trailing off. She ignored his next comment, staring at the ground. After a minute she sighed and said, It's just frusterating... she trailed off, leaving the sentence unfinished.
She looked at Soren and asked, What about you? How'd you get here? curiously, wanting to know more about him. She looked back at the ground, hoping he wouldn't get angry about her question. She looked back out over the park, frowning lightly at the cold drizzle that was falling over the dreary city, so different form her own. She missed the humid heat of Florida, it was always warm there, even in winter, never cold like this. The sandy beaches were so welcoming compared to the cold rocky shores of this land, the water the a clear blue, so different form the polluted muck that surrounded here. A sad look hinted in her eyes, now more depressed than angry, she waited for a reply from Soren, wondering what he would say...
She looked over at him again, wondering why he was being nice to her. No thanks, I'll be fine. she said, a small smile showing up on her face. She sighed and said, Are you gonna go to class? wondering if he skipped a lot like herself. She touched the cool shark tooth on her neck again, relived she actually had something close that reminded her of home. - - - - - - - notes:: none... word count:: 310 status:: finished!

Half a year, in that time Søren was ready to pull his hair out from being stuck at home so understood what Aero meant by it being frustrating. By the sound of it it seem like nobody at home was really listening to her or knew how she felt. Maybe that was why she was so angry with the place as most would love to visit New York but knowing you had to stay here when it wasn’t your home was enough to upset anyone if you were not used to a city environment. Aero next question caught him of guard a bit. This was the part where all the question he ask her were thrown back at him, ignoring her would be rude as would changing the subject. “Its a long story, boring. You wouldn’t want to hear it.” He replied with a shrug only half avoiding her question and kicked out a stone by his foot. She wouldn’t want to hear his sob story, it was kind of pathetic sounding whenever Søren told himself it so wasn’t going to tell anyone else.
It was good seeing the girl could smile, the angry look didn’t help her. But he wasn’t sure if he would go to class or not, he had nothing against going to school when he was younger but the closed in environment was just hard to get used to. The teachers tried to understand but they never really could no what it was like to be used to moving constantly and then thrown into a one location. Even as he got older Søren wasn’t used to it, he expected attending classes here would be no different. “Maybe. The last few time I went they told me to go home again, fell asleep at the table.” Søren said with a small laugh almost yawning as he spoke but he fought it back. He had to make it through the day without giving in if he wanted to get used to living here.
